Fashion Styling Studio
The ADM program is excited to announce its newest industry addition to our collection- the fashion styling studio! The fashion styling studio is used in ADM 339: Visual Merchandising and select ADM courses to introduce students to the world of professional fashion styling. Using industry trend reports and the elements of visual design, students conceptualize, create, and assemble fashion and interior looks that are suitable for media publications.
In ADM 339: Visual Merchandising, students collaborate and work in teams to plan and execute a professional fashion editorial photoshoot comprised of three different looks. Students select a theme for the shoot; create an inspiration / mood board; source a model; select appropriate clothing and accessories for the looks; choose hair and makeup looks based on industry trends; choose props; determine model poses for the shoot; create a call time sheet; take photographs; and edit the photographs using industry software. Previous students have enjoyed opportunity for creative freedom on the shoots; working as a cohesive team with their classmates; learning and selecting model poses, camera equipment and angles, and lighting elements; and effectively problem shooting any situation that may arise!
The fashion styling studio includes a state-of-the-art Canon EOS Rebel T6 Digital SLR camera, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, muslin drop backgrounds, and a photo portrait studio 600W day light umbrella with continuous lighting.
