A cookout and graduation celebration for all department majors was held on April 17th in the Living Center.   The 2014 Outstanding Seniors were presented with an achievement certificate by their program coordinator.

Phi U Initiation

Congratulations to our newest Phi Upsilson Omicron members who were initiated on October 23!  The honor society welcomed Paige Armstrong, Cassandra Arnett, Shaela Christian, Jillian Cupp, Michaela Goderwis, Kippi Hagen, Emily Laroche, and Kathryn Lindhorst.  Dr. Mary Wilson was also inducted as an honorary member.

Community Nutrition Students Participate in Family Science Night

NFA 411, Community Nutrition students visited Russell Cave Elementary School in Lexington to participate in thier Family Science Night.  The students shared nutrition information and played games with the school children and their families.  Pictured is Talisha W

Dr. Jackie Jensen Wins Teacher of the Year Award

Dr. Jackie Jensen received the Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year Award from the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education (KACTE) on July 20th.  This award is for her longtime contributions to Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Education.

Dress for Success in Lexington sponsored a design competition entitled “Recycle the Runway” on September 20th.    Designers paid 25 dollars for a garbage bag full of ”unfit” clothing, and they had 8 weeks to turn it into a runway ready outfit.
