Susan Kipp Receives KATFACS Award
Susan Kipp was recognized by the Kentucky Association Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (KATFACS) with the “Our Own” Award. Susan’s major teaching area has been Apparel Design and Merchandising. She has encouraged many of her students to study abroad. She has had students in Milan, Italy, Scotland, and Barcelona. Mrs. Kipp has also played a major role in encouraging students to work with the Habitat for Humanity Project Runway, as well as, submit designs for the Waterfront Emerging Designer Competition. She assigned her students to develop an EKU Tartan design, and she has worked with the Collegiate Tartan to get the design registered with the Scottish Registry of Tartans. She is very dedicated to her work and takes the time to listen and do what she feels offers the best opportunities for her colleagues and students. She has been active in the Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Science, serving as the state President.
