Mary Plowman Receives Phi Upsilon Omicron Scholarship
Mary Plowman received the 2017 Forthun/Rust Scholarship from Phi Upsilon Omicron. This scholarship is generally reserved for honor society members in nutrition and dietetics. Mary’s work experience in Family and Consumer Sciences is extensive. Three of her experiences include being a University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Inter, a Health Promotion Peer Educator, and a Dietary Aide. She also has volunteer experience with the Estill County Cooperative Extension and the Cub Scout MyPlate Program.
Ms. Plowman has been active in the EKU Student Dietetic Association, and is currently serving as secretary and media specialist. She is also the current president of the Beta Tau Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron here at EKU. Mary Plowman has received several awards including the Governor’s Scholar Regent Award at Eastern Kentucky University, and been on the President’s and Dean’s Lists.
